Assignment 4 (2) Frottage Drawings
Project 1: Flowers
Tools:Highlighter (Green) , 2B pencil, 4B pencil, Charcoals(Brown, black, grey), ribbons, branches
Paper:18''x24'' NewsPrint
For this work, I used two ribbons as a flower to be rubbed on the paper. And I payed attention when I rubbed it with my charcoal (Sometimes I rubbed it and I also rotate the charcoal) in order to show the different color shade of the petals. I used 2B pencil, 4B pencil, highlighter and charcoal to rub the branches so that it shows the line and the shape of the branches more clearly. I want to show the natural theme and the creativity of using ribbons as flowers to others.
Project 2 Fashion clothes
Tools: Colored makers, highlighter, watercolor, thick brush, charcoals, colored pencil, biscuit, squeezed paper, rock, cup lid
Paper:18''x24'' NewsPrint
For this work, I want to show the fashion theme by using different frottage on clothes.
Dress: I used the colored makers to draw the shape. Then I used three colors of the charcoals to rub to show the texture of the rock.
Overalls: I used the colored maker to draw the shape first. Then I squeezed the notebook paper, used thick brush to paint the watercolor (red, blue and yellow) onto the notebook paper. And I pressed really hard onto the paper to show those spots on the clothes.
Gloves: I used highlighter to draw the shape first. Then I used colored pencil to rub the texture of the biscuit. (Just a creative idea.) I also used the brown charcoal to rub the shape of the cup lid.
Extra: Practice and Material Exploration
I used nail polished, crayons, watercolors, charcoals and colored markers for material exploration. I did practice before I did it on NewsPrint paper.
